  • These charts are great at emphasizing your point - but that’s not really the best way to chart something. When plot points go from 0-200 you only show numbers for plot points for the highest at 200 and the rest 180 and below starting your chart at 150. Exaggerating the 20 point difference inland making it appear like 180 is half as high as 200. It’s a great device for manipulating audiences, advertising does this all the time, but it’s a distortion. // Also combing 7 players singular accomplishments totals over a combined 52 seasons and comparing that to one players 15 seasons of success says nothing different than your original point. Theoretically I understood what you were saying but it doesn’t work in a truthful way. The time compression vs years and playing time vs number of games played are really what mattered, if 2 of the seven were rookies but had achieved more than one of the 10year players it would be time padding, and visa versa. I think showing number of games eligible to play, games played, and years active helps to give perspective on GOAT topics.

  • This changes nothing about Jordan. Jordan still the greatest professional basketball player of all time. Doesn’t mean he can’t mistake or error as that only just makes him “human”. Everybody can have a moment (just ask BJ Armstrong), it’s just that Michael Jordan had those moments for 90% of his career and those moments where oh so nice.

  • What a total crock. Wilt Chamberlin didn't have a 48" vertical. Try 24". You'll never ever see a video of Wilt flying through the air like Michael Jordan. Never. He was 7"1" with long arms, so, sure, he could reach a foot and a half above the rim to block shots--no big deal. Do some simple math. He was 7" 1 or 84" tall. If he had a 48" vertical that's 84 plus 48 = 132" or 11'. So you should see his entire head above the rim when he went up. And you'd see the tip of his hand above the backboard. Never happened. He wasn't a world-class high jumper, he wasn't a world-class long jumper and he couldn't make a shot more than 4 ft. away from the basket. He was born before WWII and played in mostly segregated years against slower, weaker 6'4" white guys, so yeah, he could post up against them, lean back, and finger roll it in and was unstoppable. That's about it.

  • When I saw the graph at the end I immediately thought of Bill Russell and checked his game logs on basketball-reference. The best I could find was 194 games from January 4th 1960 to February 9th 1962 when the Celts lost the second of back-to-back games against Wilt and the Warriors. They only lost by 1 point and if they had won that game Russell’s streak would’ve extended by 157 games to 351 games as they didn’t lose three in a row again until January 7th 1964 against Wilt and the Warriors again.

  • Bro. I'm a fan of yours. One of the best b.ball content creators. With analytics & of course history. Bringing us the facts. However. In this one bro. I wholeheartedly disagree. First you say "Jackson's "gives' the shot to someone else. But then say Pippen shrinks on the bench. This was his moment yes. Was his time. But it wasn't him that took it away from himself. Bro. He wasn't given the shot. How would you feel, you said it yourself. It was his team now. But coach giving someone else the shot. This is not a 'shrink' moment bro. This is not a 'selfish' moment either. I feel only his team can be pissed but understanding the situation as well. Cheers bro

  • Jimmy, I’m proud of you for making the decision you made. I made the same decision when I decided not to pursue college athletic scholarships and I decided to just accept my academic scholarship to my local university. Everyone I knew had a hard time accepting it, but when you’re ready to move on you just know it. This video is such a good reminder of the thought I had to put in to make the decision I made to not be a college athlete, and I’m glad to see you’re doing well in your life post-sports. Good luck with your career man!

  • Yes that is correct, I'm 5'9. At the time I was one one the top 25 in the district I was in (rebounding was okay, scoring and assist was great. Assist leading the pack of the 3) and I could play the 1 through 3 position, plus I could dunk (one handed, it's easier than two handed dunking for those that don't know) and I went nowhere. My main downfall was the fact that I was always trying to prove I could hoop with the best (top 10 in the district) injuring my pelvis in the process. I'm 43 now and it's starting to show. But I never regret anything, I just learn and move forward. Do I wish of what could've been possible, sometimes but I'm at least still here and alive. Middle-class broke but still here. Actually I don't think I could've handled the small fame, if there would be any anyway. I grew up ghetto and still have that mentality when needed. Just going that route it would probably always be on display versus becoming humble.

An average players becomes a star a good player a superstar and all this without a sniff defense., honestly I’m bored. Not a one of them is good enough to the jockstrap of any superstar who retired by 2015. It’s a said game. No effort, no defense and no competition. Russell, Bird, Nagic, MJ, Kobe. • If I could criticize your take for one thing you missed it would be: mentality. Scal wasn't just playing rough physically, he broke them down mentally. The way he talked to them, went right up to them and pushed them around, that was a top-of-the-food-chain predator competitor on display. The two guys who should have done better, the college forward and the overseas pro, were both humble and not very assertive. Listen to my man talk (9:37). He already lost in his mind after the first shot. The mental pressure of real competition was too much. Now imagine coming off the bench in the NBA in the biggest lights on the biggest stage and everyone is counting on you. None of those guys have it. Not one.

  • Also, sorry but professional sports is not merely for entertainment purposes only. If it was then we wouldn't keep statistics. So if LeBron would like to go play half court three on three in the hood, I'm totally down with that. But his numbers are being compared to the numbers of all of the greats (you know the guys who didn't juice). And that is an absolute travesty. James is talented but would never have gotten anywhere close to where he is now without said juice. You know they were talking about Barry Bonds exactly like this until people started getting their heads screwed on straight. Take just a few moments to actually think about this and you'll see that this guy has been pulling the wool over your eyes for his whole career.

Are you trying to tell me that LeBron James is a better athlete than Bo Jackson was?!? A better athlete than Deion Sanders was? A better athlete than Jim Brown was? Hell no because they did it the right way and LeBron has been juicing for years. And absolutely Adam Silver would not look into this because he knows exactly what happened to Major League Baseball. It took them 20 years to even come close to recovering and it's still not near what it used to be
